My name is Mel! I started Sun of a Gun in 2015 after I had horrible Hyperpigmentation* on my forehead from years of bathing in the sun and constantly going in tanning beds.  I completed two rounds of IPL which thankfully erased the hideous brown spots on my face. I was told if I went back into the sun, the spots would return.  Not wanting to have to go through the pain and swelling of IPL again I decided to stay out of the tanning beds, slather on SPF,  and vowed to at least keep my face out of the sun ALWAYS.  

Since I do not like the color of my skin (I am super pale and transparent) I decided it was time to take a major step and open a spray tan business on the side. There are very few options for getting almost anything in Grimsby, especially a spray tan.  I am picky with the color and over the years of trying just about every spray tan from Grimsby to Burlington I finally found the ideal color which is suitable on any skin tone! Yay! Finally! And then Sun of a Gun was born.

I operate Sun of a Gun out of my house in Grimsby, Ontario which enables me to keep my cost per spray manageable for my customers.  I wanted to be able to help as many women as possible keep their beauty and avoid tanning beds!

*Hyperpigmentation occurs when melanin is overproduced in certain spots on the skin. ... Pigment spots such as age spots are caused by sun exposure. For this reason, they appear mainly on body parts that are frequently exposed, such as the face, hands and arms. They tend to be small, darkened patches of skin.
